On 29 March, the Centenary of Captain Scott’s death was marked and a service was held at St Paul’s Cathedral to mark the day.  Sir David Attenborough was among the guest honouring the man and his team.

The Royal Mail announced a large increase in its postage costs from the end of April.  A first class stamp will cost 60p and a second class stamp will cost 50p.  The move has not been popular with small businesses and online sellers but the Royal Mail says it has made a 1 billion loss on its core mail services over the last four years.

For the second time this year a cruise ship was left adrift at sea after an engine room fire.  The cruise ship has since had power restored and will be escorted to Malaysia where the 17-day cruise trip will come to an early end.
