The Boxing Board of Control condemned the decision by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation which this week announced it had sanctioned a match between Dereck Chisora and David Haye.  The two men made headline news earlier this year after getting into a brawl.  Neither man currently holds a boxing license with the Boxing Board of Control.

Serena Williams beat Victoria Azerenka to win the Madrid Open while Roger Federer beat Tomas Berdych.  Off the court, it was the blue clay making the headlines after players – most notably Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic –  complained that the clay was dangerous and stating that they would not enter next year if it remained.

May has been a good month for snooker player Ronnie O’ Sullivan.  He recently won the Bedfred World Champion and on Thursday was named World Snooker Player of the Year at an award ceremony in London.  Following his win at the championship, O’ Sullivan announced he would be taking some time out from the sport.
