What should have been a day of fun and triumphant ended in tragedy on Monday when two explosions tore through Boston. The explosions occurred at the end of the Boston marathon and has led to security concerns for the London Marathon, which is due to be held on Sunday.
It has been widely reported that three people were killed as a result of the explosions and many, many more were injured. Some the injuries were life changing and included amputations.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, and in a speech last night President Obama urged caution and advised people not to jump to conclusions over who might be behind the attack.
During his speech, Obama also praised the work of the firefighters, Boston police, National Guard and the first responders and vowed that those behind the attack would be tracked down.
